Naoko Iyoda

She was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1970 and graduated from the Joshibi University of Art and Design in Tokyo.

She specialises in silk-screen and photography. She was one of three participants in an exhibition at the ART WAD’S gallery in Tokyo, Japan, with silk-screen illustrations on metal and experiments on acrylic with two combined materials. She began working as a fabric designer with  a company in Japan, devising and designing accessories for famous European brands, such as Vivienne Westwood, Christian Dior, Katharine Hamnett and Kenzo, etc. (from 1993 to 2001).

She moved to Italy and  took the new jewellery technique course with master jeweller Davide De Paoli at the UrOburo premises in Milan. After around three years living in Milan, working on her two main interests (fashion and jewellery), her life took a new turn in Zurich, Switzerland. She continues to work with UrOburo, producing her unique pieces of jewellery.

Since 2004 she has been part of the UrOburo Collective and is a member of the Cooperative. She takes part in all the exhibitions organised by the Studio, and designed and created the invitations for the “Onde” and “Alberi” exhibitions.

Over the years she has developed her own style in terms of materials, transposing natural and organic shapes onto metal.
